The Convergence of Mountains and Sea

Montecito, Spanish for “little mount,” radiates luxury and casual elegance. One of our favorite ways to start the morning is by lacing up your hiking boots and hitting the trails. Santa Barbara and Montecito are erupting with gorgeous hikes in the mountains with 180-degree ocean views. With over 15 different trails, you will find a range of hikes from easy nature or beach walks to challenging assents up into the foothills.

An alternative to hiking is walking and shopping on Coast Village Road. Meandering down this street will transport you to a Mediterranean beach town. You will peer into elegant boutiques, sip local Lily Rose at the Folded Hills Tasting Room, or sit with friends at Honor Bar sharing a Dip Duo and Macho Salad with jalapeño crotons. After a day of shopping, eating, and hiking you can relax beachside, play in the water (or on top of it with a paddleboard or kayak), and watch the sunset over the iconic Butterfly Beach. We are happy to welcome you to Montecito!

Let’s Talk About Dining

Breakfast/Coffee

Jeannine’s Bakery – Quintessential breakfast spot in Montecito. Quaint outdoor seating offering the perfect spot for coffee, eggs, and people watching. Order at the counter and claim your spot. Martin makes the best lattes and cappuccinos in town!

Bree’Osh – Locally owned French bakery and coffee shop. Get there early to try their famous fresh brioches pastries, & quiches served with coffee for breakfast and lunch.

Renaud’s – Great option for breakfast or lunch. Even better if you are celebrating a special occasion. They make the best chocolate decadent cake in town.

Merci Montecito – Located in the Montecito Country Mart. The shop offers homemade artisanal savory dishes and sweets (our favorite is the glute- free chicken paillard with lemon caper olive tapenade).

Lunch/Dinner

Panino – Great spot for lunch – sandwiches, soups, and salads. Ideal for to-go orders. Take it back to your new home, or the sea wall at Butterfly Beach.

Malibu Farm – Offers all-day dining in a refined yet laid back setting at the Rosewood Miramar. The restaurant serves simply prepared dishes crafted from fresh and locally sourced ingredients.

Bettina Pizzeria – Cozy neighborhood restaurant serving naturally-leavened, Neapolitan-style pizza with local seasonal ingredients. Whether celebrating something special or just grabbing a spritz at the bar, they are committed to simplicity, community, and warm hospitality.

Tre Lune – Experience the fine flavors in life and reminiscent of your last trip to Italy. This is our favorite Italian restaurant in Santa Barbara. The kind and tenured staff, delicious (seriously incredible) menu and homey atmosphere make it a memorable favorite. Your experience will be one for the books with this honest, high-quality Italian cooking.

Los Arroyos – Family owned and operated since 1999. Sit outside with a spicy margarita, fresh guacamole, and salsa and envy your partner’s decision on what to order (luckily they will be envying yours as well). They serve fresh, homemade Mexican food crafted each day from the finest ingredients.

Lucky’s Steakhouse – Legendary Montecito staple. Beautiful alfresco dining, careful attention to detail, well-crafted cocktails, premium wine selection, and unsurpassed ingredients.

Honor Bar – New American eats, cocktails & wines in a trendy space with outdoor seating.

Folded Hills Tasting Room – Montecito’s premier (and only) wine tasting room. Offering wines by the glass or bottle.

Carusos – Beachfront restaurant at the Rosewood Miramar featuring al fresco seating and unmatched views of the Pacific Ocean. Chef Massimo combines the tastes of Southern Italy and coastal Montecito. (Business Casual dress code required)

Oliver’s – Warm, casual & stylish outpost offering healthy plant-based cuisine, organic juices & cocktails.

Stonehouse – This gem is located at the San Ysidro Ranch. The historic stone house is magical with its wood-burning fireplace, white linens, terrace vistas, and a regional menu. Pictured here.

Plough & Angel – Romantic Stonehouse setting with fireplace on San Ysidro Ranch for upscale Californian fare & wine.

Lotusland

Named one of the 10 best gardens in the world, home to over 3000 plants was designed with the horticultural passion of an extraordinary woman, Madame Ganna Walska. As the Los Angeles Times describes, “Evidence of Walska’s art is everywhere—in surprising juxtapositions of form and playful shocks to our expectations. But Lotusland’s garden is not simply an eccentric fantasy, any more than Alice in Wonderland is just a children’s book. For Walska, plants were more than plants; they were colors to paint with, a family to nurture, characters to direct.”
